February 17, 2021 Update: Please note the computer lab in the Engineering and Applied Science Building (EN-3000) will reopen on Feb. 17 for students who do not have personal computer access for remote learning. Work is ongoing to open additional computer labs in the coming weeks.

EN-3000 will be open between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on weekends. The capacity of this room is six people. Printing is not available in EN-3000.

The building will remain under restricted access so students requiring access to the computer lab must request it in advance. To request access, email frideout@mun.ca with your name and student number between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Before coming to campus, you must complete the COVID-19 Self Assessment in the MUN Safe app.

Workshops

We are adjusting our DMC and Makerspace workshops to make them available remotely (via video chat).  Take a look at our upcoming workshops and register for any that you are interested in.

One-on-one Tutoring

Our tutors are available to help you remotely (via video chat) with using the Microsoft Office suite of applications as well as the Adobe Creative Suite.  To set up a session, please e-mail us at commons@mun.ca.

Downloadable Software

You can install a number of applications on your home computer including Microsoft Office 365, SPSS, MatLab and ArcGIS. All of these can be downloaded by visiting my.mun.ca and following the instructions provided.

Academic Support

The Writing Centre's online service is now open for the Winter 2021 semester. Hatcher Commons also provides free, virtual academic tutoring in a variety of subjects.
